A long exposure I took of the Tokyo skyline from the 45th floor observation deck of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Offices. It looks like there's a tiny bit of camera shake.

Tokyo Tower? Is that in Shinjuku?

:iconhitokirivader:
No, the tower is in the Roppongi district, but very close to Shinjuku. Actually, the large three-section building to the left with the triangles on top is Shinjuku Park Tower.

Ah - cheers - love the shot, BTW - I've been to Tokyo a couple of times and I was just trying to figure out if this one was taken from the government buildings in Shinjuku or not. You never realise how sprawling Tokyo is until you see it from high up like this!

CRAP! I was looking through my stash of photos from Japan and suddenly realized that I had this picture mislabeled. This photo was among the ones I took from the 45th floor observation deck of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Offices. You were right, this was in Shinjuku, and yes, the building to the left is the Shinjuku Park Tower. I had mistaken them for similar nighttime Tokyo skyline photos I'd captured while on the observation deck of the Tokyo Tower. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Heh heh - no problem - the view from up there is magnificent! Brings back a lot of happy memories too. Gotta go back there some time!

Oh, I see what you mean. You're thinking of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Offices in Shinjuku, that twin towers building. This picture was taken from the Tokyo Tower, which was modeled after the Eiffel Tower.
But yeah, you're right. From down below, Tokyo is a crowd of pedestrians, but from up above, it's a beautiful metropolis that seems to go on forever.
