Since joining LiningUp.net in early 2005, I've used the image of Darth Vader pointing as my avatar everywhere I could, from other messageboards to AIM to right here at deviantART. I felt that the iconic image of old school Vader was the perfect way to represent my Star Wars fandom and my screenname.
But then as the DVD release of Revenge of the Sith neared and those of us at LiningUp.net started planning a line-up for the midnight release at the Hollywood Virgin Megastore, I thought it'd be a neat idea to turn my avatar into an ad promoting the event. Then Thanksgiving neared, and I made a Thanksgiving-themed avatar. Then Christmas. Then New Years... and so on. It sorta became my gimmick, that I'd always have a variation of the same avatar. And I still do.
In order of creation, the themes from left to right: the original avatar, Revenge of the Sith DVD release, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day 2006, Valentine's Day, King Kong, Saint Patrick's Day, Battlestar Galactica, April Fool's Day, Easter, Superman Returns, Halloween, blank, Batman Begins, Independence Day, me, 300, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, Hellboy, Halo, Raptor Jesus, Don Hertzfeldt's "Rejected," James Bond, Hanukkah, Dearth Nadir of The Muppet Show, Spaceballs, Obama '08, The Shredder, Watchmen, the "PTKFGS" fad from YTMND.com, the "lol, internet" fad from YTMND.com, Star Trek, "Little Fatty," and Wolverine.
Star Wars and its characters are property of Lucasfilm Ltd. I'm not making prints of this; it's just up for free for all of you to enjoy.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
